At St James Primary, our Christian values of KINDNESS, RESPECT, WISDOM and JOY are at the core of all we do. They also help to drive our ethos and behaviour guidelines in school so that our children know that they should be ready, safe and respectful.
We promote these and our 'British Values’ through our spiritual, moral, social and cultural education which permeates through the schools’ curriculum and supports the development of the ‘whole child’.
Our staff provide a model of behaviour for our pupils and our standards of work and behaviour are high. We seek to nurture children socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically. We’re not complacent and try to lead the way for our children and listen and reflect on the effectiveness of what we do and how we do it. We strive to improve our performance and encourage children to do the same.
The world of education is changing significantly and children need to be equipped to develop key, relevant life skills. We welcome discussion and agreement with parents about how to assist our children and know that effective school parent partnerships are crucial for their progress and well being. Our Governors, teachers and support staff are committed and capable in their work and understand their role as role models in the school community.
We cherish the school community that binds staff, children, families and church closely together. With this as our strong base we seek to get the very best for all our children.
Inclusivity
We welcome children whose families attend a church or other faith institution, as well as those who live in the school’s locality.
- We offer 30 places in each year group from Reception to Year 6.
- From time to time in year places are also available, so please do contact the School Office
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and faith traditions. We do, however, expect our families to be fully supportive of the school as a Christian foundation
